Our Story
The Seated Queen was founded in 2019 by sisters Josephine and Libby Banks, who share a passion for creating effective yet gentle skincare products.
Josephine is a trained facial massage therapist who has worked in the skincare and spa industry for over a decade. Through her work, she saw firsthand the difference that regular massage and high-quality skincare could make to her clients’ complexions.
Libby has an editorial background, working as a writer and consultant for luxury retail and beauty brands. Her insight into the skincare market revealed a gap for a brand focused on gentle, minimal yet results-driven formulations.
Combining Josephine’s skincare expertise and Libby’s brand-building knowledge, the sisters set out on a mission to create The Seated Queen – a range of nurturing, sensory skincare products to soothe, calm and replenish all skin types.

Our base ingredients include:

- Apricot kernel oil – Nourishes with vitamins A and E to improve elasticity

- Rosehip oil – Regenerates skin and improves tone and texture
We avoid harsh detergents like SLS that can strip the skin. Our formulations focus on gentle cleansing, protecting the acid mantle and strengthening the moisture barrier through nourishing botanical ingredients.

The Soothing Facial Serum
Our lightweight serum delivers an instant hit of hydration while strengthening the skin’s moisture barrier. Hyaluronic acid attracts and binds moisture to smooth and plump. Niacinamide improves texture and tone over time. Spritz onto skin after cleansing then apply your facial oil or moisturiser.
The Gentle Cleansing Balm
